Karnataka, [India], May 15, 2025: Karnataka-based KVB Green Energies achieved a remarkable feat in progressing sustainable community kitchens. They successfully commissioned an innovative solar steam cooking system for the Sri Siddanganga Mutt in Tumkur. The project serves more than 5,000 people daily without needing LPG or firewood, representing a fusion of Indian hospitality traditions and advanced renewable technology.

Three Decades of Solar Innovation

KVB Green Energies was founded in 2021 by Rajivkumar Chavadi, who brings over thirty years of expertise in concentrated solar thermal (CST) systems.  Their MNRE-certified systems have earned recognition for diminishing operating costs while significantly reducing environmental impact.

Remarkable Environmental and Economic Impact

“The biggest achievement of this installation is its scale and efficiency,” explains Mr. Chavadi. “We integrated  Scheffler dishes with a 300 LPD FPC hot water preheater, helping us eliminate over 1,000 kg of CO₂ emissions daily while providing complete energy independence.”

The financial benefits of this sustainable development are equally impressive– an operational lifespan of more than 30 years with a payback period of only 1.5 to 5 years. This significant advancement will allow institutions to redirect their funds from fuel purchases to core missions.

Trusted by Leading Institutions

KVB has a track record for successfully installing sustainable energy systems for prestigious clients such as the Indian Army, IIT Dharwad, INS Mandovi (Goa), and numerous agricultural universities. The systems are designed and manufactured at their Dharwad facility, ensuring customization to specific institutional needs.

Beyond Cooking: A Sustainable Vision

KVB’s commitment to a sustainable future goes beyond its solar-powered cooking system offering. It extends to solar tunnel dryers, cold storage solutions, solar stills, dehydrators, and agricultural animal repellents – all utilizing the same sustainable technology.

“Our mission is not just about providing equipment,” Mr. Chavadi, Founder of KVB Green Energies, emphasizes. “We’re committed to reducing deforestation and fossil fuel dependence across India while empowering institutions to become energy self-sufficient.”

For religious mutts, hostels, residential schools, and catering units seeking sustainable alternatives to conventional energy, KVB Green Energies offers proven solutions that combine environmental responsibility with economic freedom.
