Sahil Seth Nominated as Honorary Chairman, Para Powerlifting Punjab and Honorary Director (PR & Communications), India Para Powerlifting

New Delhi, [India] May 5: India Para Powerlifting, functioning under the Paralympic Committee of India, has nominated Sahil Seth as Honorary Chairman, Para Powerlifting Punjab, and Honorary Director (Public Relations & Communications), India Para Powerlifting.
The roles are honorary in nature and form part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the development and outreach of para powerlifting in the country, with continued emphasis on inclusivity and accessibility in sports.
In his capacity as Honorary Chairman for Punjab, Seth will be associated with supporting grassroots participation, facilitating identification of athletes, and contributing to the development of the sport within the state. In his role as Honorary Director (Public Relations & Communications), he will be engaged in communication initiatives, public outreach, and stakeholder coordination at the national level.
Seth is an officer of the Indian Revenue Service (2011 batch) and has served in various administrative capacities in government. Alongside his official responsibilities, he has been associated, in an honorary and voluntary capacity, with initiatives across sports, arts, and social outreach. These include his association with the Delphic Games, aimed at supporting and promoting artistic talent.
He has also been involved in social initiatives through Prasara Foundation, contributing to activities such as food distribution drives, tree plantation efforts, support for orphanages and old-age homes, and seasonal relief initiatives including blanket distribution.
In addition, he has engaged with creative pursuits reflecting an interest in the arts, including acting in the film “Bal Naren” and authoring the book “A Confused Mind Story.” He has also been associated, in an honorary capacity, with initiatives linked to BRICS platforms.
The nominations come at a time when para sports in India continue to receive increased attention, with emphasis on strengthening institutional support systems and improving visibility for athletes at national and international levels.
Speaking on the occasion, Seth stated:

Para sport carries an important social dimension, and it is essential that we approach it with sensitivity while strengthening systems that enable athletes to perform and progress. The focus will remain on contributing constructively to development, accessibility, and recognition.”
